Educational Opportunities Offered by HWRGC
Education is at the core of our mission at Hamilton Wenham Rod & Gun Club. We proudly offer a variety of programs to help members of all ages develop the knowledge and confidence needed to participate safely in shooting sports, archery, fishing, and outdoor recreation. Our educational offerings include: Firearm safety courses and certification opportunities, Youth instruction in marksmanship and conservation, Family-friendly events that promote responsible outdoor practices, Community partnerships and outreach programs with local schools and youth groups.
Firearm Safety Training
The Hamilton Wenham Rod and Gun Club offers firearm safety courses, provided by our three certified firearms instructors. This course is offered monthly, free of charge, to immediate family members of HWRG club members. The course is designed for anyone, from the beginner just getting his or her firearms license, to the experienced shooter getting their firearms license renewal. The course is required for anyone who wishes to obtain a MA LTC or FID card. Upon completion of the course, a MA State Police firearms safety certificate will be provided to each participant.

Massachusetts Firearm
Safety Training Courses
All Firearm Safety Training Courses are held on site at HWRGC and are conducted by trusted certified firearms instructors. We offer the Massachusetts Basic Firearms Safety Course which is a required class in Massachusetts to apply for your License to Carry (Class A) and FID (Class C) Gun licenses. We also are happy to offer Firearm Lessons.
